Profession Overview:

Pharmacists are healthcare professionals specializing in the study of drugs and their use. They play a crucial role in dispensing medications, providing information on drug interactions, and ensuring patient safety.

  • Pharmacies: Dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications.

Academic Requirements

  1. ACSEE Level:
    • Obtain at least two principal-level passes in science subjects, with Chemistry and Biology as preferred subjects.
    • Meet the university’s specified total points requirement.
  1. Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm):
    • Apply for admission to a recognized university offering the BPharm program.
    • Successfully complete the BPharm program, which includes theoretical and practical pharmacy education.
  2. Internship and Registration:
    • Complete a one-year internship after the BPharm program.
    • Register with the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania to become a licensed pharmacist.
