Volunteering has been a way for many youths in Tanzania to enter a job market, at times when there are no direct employment opportunities. By volunteering, young people get a chance to gain the first work experiences in a desired work field (add to one´s CV), prove themselves in their work (gain good reference), and connect themsselves more easily to potential job opportunities.
Young people, having graduated from their studies, can start to volunteer in a career field of their choice and develop their career by volunteering. This is idealy enabled when parents/guardians or mentors support them with their cost of living while they are trying to get foothold in their career.
Knowing that there are young people who don´t even have a chance to get a volunteering placement or support for the whole process of volunteering while trying to get access to a job, our Volunteering Programme in Mwanza was initiated.
