Chemists deal with the production and further development of chemical products and the properties of chemical substances. They are active e.g. in development, production planning and management, science and teaching, environmental analysis or consulting.

Typical are of work:
Chemists find employment, among others
–  in companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical or plastics manufacturing industries
– in research institutes, e.g. in the fields of medicine, natural sciences or the environment.
– as paper and pulp manufacturers or in the food industry
– at universities
– at environmental offices
