Civil Engineers

Civil Engineers are involved in the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and water supply systems.

Areas of Work:

  • Construction Companies: Overseeing construction projects.
  • Government Agencies: Planning and managing public infrastructure.
  • Consulting Firms: Providing engineering expertise.
  • Environmental Engineering: Addressing environmental aspects of projects.

Academic Requirements:

  1. ACSEE Level:
    • Obtain a minimum of two principal-level passes, including Mathematics and Physics.
    • Meet the university’s specified total points requirement.
  2. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSc Civil Engineering):
    • Apply for admission to a recognized university offering the BSc Civil Engineering program.
    • Successfully complete the program, covering structural design, geotechnical engineering, and project management.
  3. Internship and Professional Development:
    • Complete internships to gain practical experience.
    • Pursue professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Tanzania.
