Piloting Youth-Led Cage Fish Farming in Mwanza

 

CCSN ist collaborating with Tunaweza Disability Foundation, Mwanza Youth Community Advisory Board (YCAB) and Baylor Foundation Tanzania to pilot a youth-driven commercial cage fish farming on Lake Victoria. This eight months project aims to provide an opportunity for 10 to 15 young people to run a fish farming business from the very first stage of renting a cage and acquiring fingerlings, growing the fishes to their commercial size, up to harvesting  and marketing them in the end. This coached experience targets to provide the involved youth with the required knowledge in fish farming as well as training and empower them economically so that they can pursue successfull fish farming business at the end of this project. This project is expected to start in October 2025 and end in May 2026.
