Social Workers support individuals and communities in dealing with various challenges, such as poverty, mental health issues, and family problems. They provide counseling, advocacy, and connect clients with resources.

Areas of Work:

  • Clinical Social Worker: Providing therapy and mental health support.
  • School Social Worker: Assisting students and families with academic and social challenges.
  • Medical Social Worker: Supporting patients and families in healthcare settings.
  • Community Organizer: Advocating for social change and community development.

Academic Requirements:

  1. ACSEE Level:
    • Obtain a minimum of two principal-level passes. History, Geography, Kiswahili, English language
    • Meet the university’s specified total points requirement.
  2. Bachelor of Social Work (BSW):
    • Apply for admission to a recognized university offering the BSW program.
    • Successfully complete the program, covering social work theories, methods, and field placements.
  3. Internship and Professional Development:
    • Complete supervised field placements to gain practical experience.
    • Pursue licensure or certification as required by relevant social work regulatory bodies.
